Cult North
Cult North is an emerging initiative focused on art education and passion development among young self-taught creators in Rotterdam. We aim to introduce this target group to diverse creative expressions to foster well-being and purpose, while also building an infrastructure toward professionalization. We work based on the demands of our community and co-create programs that align with their current needs. In this way, we strive for an accessible arts and culture sector. For us, culture is not just a tool, but an ecosystem that also encompasses diverse domains such as well-being, care, and education.

Who we are
In various ways, we organize activities such as panels, events/festivals, and masterclasses where we offer young makers the opportunity to develop themselves, make their voices heard, and expand their network. We don't respond to problems, we respond to passion!

Our group consists of a multicultural composition of young entrepreneurs, creatives, and youth workers who have an affinity with the neighborhood and its residents. This allows us to respond in a targeted way to the wishes of this group of people. The language of the youth is not spoken by every organization. We notice that many institutions still struggle to approach the youth and help them in the difficult search for what truly drives them.
Cult North is located at Insulindestraat 60, where we provide daily programs. Feel free to make an appointment to visit us!
What we do
As an organization, Cult North is committed to acting as a 'Third Place' for the residents of Rotterdam. The 'Third Place' is the social environment separate from the two usual social environments of home ('first place') and the workplace ('second place'). This is a neutral environment, accessible to everyone with a low entry barrier. A home away from home. The advantage of offering a 'Third Place' as the starting point for activities is that a space is created where visitors can connect, without any obligations attached.

Because Cult North profiles and operates as an organization that supports the development of passion focused on creative interests and professions, young people do not feel pressure but rather the drive to participate in the activities offered. Because of the low-threshold nature of the events, young people can first orient themselves, then deepen their knowledge, and see the benefits of attending the events for their personal development.
Target Audience
Cult North primarily focuses on young people between the ages of 14 and 30 living in Rotterdam North. We focus on vulnerable youth. This includes various issues such as unemployment, poverty, addiction, a criminal past, but also insecurity or depression.
